Went to “Fondation Folon” (at about 30 minutes from Brussels-Center by taxi – 55 Euros!) Another discovery/! It’s a museum (on a farm Château de La Hulpe. situé au cœur du Parc Solvay. quite green surroundings – see above and the foundation website!) that Folon created himself in 2000 (he was born in 1934 in Belgium – he is Belgian - and died in 2005 in Monaco I learned later on – see for more details wikipedia!) He is very versatile: Watercolor; oil; posters; “gravure”; sculpting; etc. He’s done covers for magazines (Time; the New Yorker, l’Express, etc.); posters for exhibitions and films (French version of Woody Allen’s “The Rose of Cairo”); book illustrations (Prévert – among other things, there is a video-interview with Yves Montand – must go back to the ‘90s). Very versatile indeed!
