At the (Molson) Amphitheatre, at Ontario Place. The day after a series of openings at the Stratford Festival – a change from Shakespeare! Would say about 15,000 people were there – some singing and dancing like true fans... Look like a huge crowd to me. In this open-air concert venue – hot summer night: perfect weather! The sound of Carlos Santana, and his 10 or so other crazy singers and musicians! His “signature” guitar sound! Love his Afro rhythms. He revealed his origins when he said that he is still a “hippie” of the 60’s – he “came of age” in the San Francisco Bay area at that time. Born in Mexico though, I found out –might explain his religiosity! I did not discover his music until his “career revival” in the late 90s / early 2000s – his album “Supernatural” (named after his guitar?) In his 60s now...and going strong...
Great evening – ended up parking away – half an hour walking...at the (virtual?) cost of a $60 ticket...
