Scouted a few in those two days. Tried for Trente – the only restaurant worth commenting about, according to a Belgian food buff website! – but could not get a table: fully booked on Saturday night, and it is a small place… One must say the weekend is not the best time to aim for better restaurants. We had in mind to try this restaurant that an Englishman met in Boston had suggested: La Table des Templiers, in nearby Wavre, but it was close. Same for Improvisio in Leuven. More success at the Botaniq where we were able to get a table for dinner on Saturday. Degustation-type. I do remember the veal to be very tender and delicious. Lunch on Sunday on the “new” food street, Munstraat, near the Town Hall, where the restaurants come one after the other; at Kokoon that seems to specialize in wok kitchen: revelled in a stir-fried noodles with vegetables, asparagus and shrimps. After a traditional white asparagus à la flamande as an entrée. All with a Petit Chablis…
Remarkable though to note the effort to promote good restaurants in marketing brochures in the city.
